What is the
Best Dog Food for My Dog?
Many people feed their dogs better than they
feed themselves. Or more healthy anyway. So what
is the best dog food? Is it kibble, raw,
granulated, frozen, canned, dehydrated, baked, extruded,
homemade, or any or none of the above?
Well it depends. I personally don't think the best way to
feed your dog is to feed him or her kibble. However, I know
that many many people do feed kibble so if you are one of them,
do your research and find the best one. When I did feed kibble
years ago I fed Innova and my dogs did well on it. There were
never any recalls or problems with the food. But I'd have to
look into it and do a bit of research before I could recommend
it today simply because I haven't fed it in so many years.
I personally prefer a food where the ingredients are all
visible to me. So my favorite types of food are raw food, raw
food mixes, or homemade.
But again, since not everyone will go to this much trouble,
and many simply don't want to, I'm going to do some research
into the various kibbles and other foods available so that
everyone can get the best information and decide for themselves
on the healthiest dog food.
I have feed Sojos, or Sojourner Farms to my 5 dogs for about
7 years and they do fantastic. Before that I used Abady
granulated and they did very well on that too. And before that
I used Innova. Previous to that we won't discuss it because I
fed some really bad stuff without realizing it I'm sure. I
don't even recall what it was but I will say my dogs are a lot
healthier now, that's for sure.
So the answer to "what is the best dog food" is not going to
be a concrete one but, rather, what you are comfortable with
and what your dog does well on.
My personal recommendation is Sojos. My dogs
do fantastic on this food.
